U.S. Petroleum And Petroleum Products Carloads Down 15.6% In Dec. 17 Week From Same Week In 2015: AAR

Petroleum and petroleum products rail shipments stood at 11,089 carloads in the week of Dec. 17, down 15.6% from the same week in 2015, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported this week. Petroleum and petroleum products carloads have been slumping all year compared to 2015 as shipments of crude-by-rail have fallen with a decline in crude oil prices. Through the first 50 weeks of 2016, total U.S. petroleum and petroleum products shipments stood at 548,193 carloads, down 21.6% as compared to the same period in 2015.
