Railroads Improve Chicago Rail Traffic Flow With Operations Center: AAR

Freight trains are moving more smoothly through the Chicago area thanks to the Chicago Integrated Rail Operations Center (CIROC), the Association of American Railroads (AAR) said this month.

The center, which opened in December 2015, is a communications and operations hub with direct connections to each carrier that operates in Chicago. The center’s staff monitor Chicago’s rail hub, looking for possible congestion and working with railroads to keep traffic moving smoothly.
