Will Rail Rescue the Canadian Propane Market This Winter?

Canada has a whole lot of propane in storage. That shouldn’t be a big deal, given there are more than five months of winter demand ahead. No doubt, by the end of March 2021 inventories will be lower. The kicker is stocks are 40 percent higher than the average for this time of year. And that worries some producers about the possibility of a significant carryover into 2021 if the surplus can’t be whittled down.
