Moderate propane export rates contributed to another build in U.S. weekly propane inventories. The Department of Energy said this morning that total U.S. stocks rose 2.5% to 98.5 million bbl, up from 96.1 million bbl last week. Stocks were up 2.2% from year ago levels.
It appears the U.S. is headed into another winter heating season with more than 100 million bbl of product on hand. The nation has been persistently building inventories over the past two years. The additional supply has been supported by the natural gas liquids production that has accompanied shale play production.
