CP Rail is making it more expensive to ship LPG this winter. Today the railroad announced it is raising the tariff on liquified petroleum gas (LPG) shipments originating from north Alberta by 10%.
According to a notice from the railroad obtained by Energy Transport Insider, starting Jan. 3, 2019, the increase applies to LPG shipments originating in north Alberta tariff 8642, 8646, 8682 and 8694.
In addition, the railroad said starting Jan. 4, 2019, the demurrage rate for private rail cars in the Edmonton area will be $155/car/day. That is up from $130/car/day.
