AltaGas’ RIPET’s 40,000 b/d Capacity Is Full, 1Q2019 Open Targeted

With booming crude oil and natural gas production, Canada has developed a propane surplus. Two factors contribute to that problem: 1) U.S. purchases of western Canada’s propane have been flat or declining; 2) Western Canada has almost no pipeline takeaway capacity for propane. The only way to ship product out is by rail. The solution - rail product to the coast. Canada's first West Coast export dock is set to open in the first quarter of 2019.
