Short Line Safety Institute Gets $2.4M Grant from Federal Railroad Administration

The Short Line Safety Institute (SLSI) announced Monday it has received a $2.4 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), enabling the SLSI to continue its work to enhance safety practices in the short line and regional railroad industry.

The SLSI was established in 2015 in partnership with Congress, FRA, the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA), and the short line industry, with the goal of improving safety on short line and regional railroads. The SLSI maintains a focus on crude and hazardous materials.
