The Union Pacific Railroad mainline between Dunsmuir and Lakehead , California as a wildfire has swept through the area. State highway officials have also closed a nearby section of Interstate 5.

An ABC news report on Friday said the Delta fire started Wednesday in Shasta County, California. Since then 15,000 acres have burned.

A request for comment from Union Pacific was not returned by presstime.
