Unions Move to Strike Against CP Rail

Two rail worker unions plan to strike against the Canadian Pacific Railway, as the two sides have not been able to reach agreement on a new labor contract.

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference – Train & Engine (TCRC), representing locomotive engineers and conductors, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), representing signals and communication employees, told the railroad, on Saturday, that they intend to strike starting at 2200 hrs EDT, Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

Last week, rank and file members voted to reject a final contract offer from the railroad. The rejection of the railroad's offer paved the way for union members to strike.
