Longer-Term Tank Car Sublease Levels Inch Higher as Market Adjusts

Longer-term LPG tank car sublease rates moved slightly higher in the latest week, as a refinery accident and continued delays in the Mariner East (ME) natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline project were a focus.

With many in the market - as one source put it - “getting realigned,” as an overhang continues at Canadian railroads due to congestion and staffing shortages, an explosion at a Superior, Wisconsin refinery resulted in increased supply of pressure- and general-purpose-tank cars.
