CP Rail, Unions Avoid Strike

CP Rail and two unions, representing train crews and signal maintainers, reached, on Friday afternoon, an 11th hour agreement to avoid a strike.

The railroad and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference-Train & Engine (TCRC) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) inked a new labor contract on Friday.

CP Rail cancelled shipping embargos, but did notify shippers that they may experience some delays. Those are related to the re-start of the system that had been primed for a shut down.
