Pa. Invests $32 Million in Rail Projects; Spends $3.8 Million To Serve Shell’s Petchem Plant

The state of Pennsylvania is investing $3.8 million to help Shell Chemical Appalachia LLC to ship products from a petrochemical plant under construction in Beaver County.

The funds are part of a total investment of $32 million by the state in rail infrastructure projects, Governor Tom Wolf announced this week.

The $3.8 million will be used to lay 10 miles of track from Aliquippa to Monaca. The track will first be used to bring in construction materials for the petrochemical plant and then to handle finished product, once the plant is completed.
