Mexico’s rail market is competitive. That’s the conclusion from a final resolution issued by Mexico’s Economic Competition Commission (COFECE).
The final resolution dismissed a preliminary report from the Investigating Authority of the COFECE which found a lack of competition for rail freight.
Kansas City Southern, one target (along with Ferromex and Ferrosur) of the investigation, acknowledged in a press release Thursday morning, receiving notice from the COFECE which ends the investigation. The investigation began about a year ago this time.
