ETI 5 Questions: ASLRRA’s Linda Bauer Darr on the Short Line Railroad Sector’s Outlook

In addition to the goal of implementation of positive train control (PTC) and other technology, short line railroads have a number of issues to focus on in the near term, according to Linda Bauer Darr, president of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA).

ASLRRA is the national trade association that represents the nation’s 600 Class II and Class III railroads. Referred to collectively as short line railroads, those railroads operate just under 50,000 miles of track, or nearly one third of the national railroad network.
