CP Rail notified customers this week that train lengths could be shortened and train speeds slowed as a new cold front has dropped south across North America.
CP Rail's customer service advisory, seen by Energy Transport Insider, said, "extreme cold weather is returning to the Prairies and Northern Ontario. Our Winter operating plan and train length restrictions will be enacted as necessary."
The railroad noted that the cold weather is expected to continue into the week of Feb. 5, implying that service restrictions could continue.
