LPG Tank Car Sublease Rates Mostly Flat as Attention Turns to Holidays

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank car sublease rates were mostly flat in the latest week as the market began to slip into holiday mode.

"People are slowly [starting] to go home for the holidays and the phones are getting quiet," said one individual at a broker firm.

Market participants cited Canada rail as an ongoing area of concern. One logistics and marketing professional at a midstream firm said natural gas liquids (NGL) shipments were “kicked to the curb” in terms of priority after the WCS-WTI price differential became such that Canadian product looked “cheap” and there was a good deal of demand to take product out of Canada.
