CSX CEO E. Hunter Harrison, 73, died on Dec. 16, therailroad company reported on the same day.
His death came a day after CSX announced that Harrison had been placed on medical leave.
Harrison was a noted railroad turnaround expert. He engineered corporate and operational overhauls at the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railways. He did the same at the Illinois Central, which was subsequently acquired by CN.
He was hired by CSX earlier this year to overhaul the struggling railroad.
