US Weekly Petroleum Rail Traffic Down 20.2%: AAR

US petroleum and petroleum product rail traffic stood at 10.379 carloads in the week ended Sept. 24. That was down 20.2% from the same week a year prior, the Association of American Railroads reported this week. Year-to-date, cumulative traffic, at 422,281 total carloads was down 22.2%.

Weekly Canadian carloads of petroleum and petroleum products were down 25%, at 5,731 carloads. Year-to-date traffic at 233,660 carloads was down 18.3%.

Mexico saw petroleum and petroleum product traffic fall this week from last. At 578 carloads, traffic was down 31.6% from the same period a year prior. But, year-to-date, carloads at 28,668, were up ...
