AltaGas To Build Propane Export Terminal Near Prince Rupert, BC; In Service By 1Q 2019

AltaGas Ltd. plans to build Canada’s first West Coast propane export terminal the company said this week. Construction on the $450-$500 million terminal is expect to start in early 2017. The terminal is forecasted to open in the first quarter of 2019. The facility will be located on Ridley Island, near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. It is designed to load out 1.2 million tonnes of propane per year. Propane from British Columbia and Alberta natural gas producers will be transported to the terminal using the existing CN rail network.
