The Chicago rail hub saw 15,428 cars pass through its major classification yards in the week ending Dec. 24, the Surface Transportation Board (STB) reported Thursday. That was up from 14,835 cars, the previous week.
The average number of trains held for arrival into the nation’s largest rail hub rose to an average of 2.29 per day in the week ended Dec. 24.
