U.S. Petroleum and Petroleum Products Carloads Down 5.4% in Dec. 24 Week from Same Week in 2015: AAR

Petroleum and petroleum products rail shipments stood at 9,972 carloads in the week ended Dec. 24, down 5.4% from the same week in 2015, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported this week. Petroleum and petroleum products was the only commodity group in the weekly AAR report that showed a decline from the related week last year. Through the first 51 weeks of 2016, total U.S. petroleum and petroleum products shipments stood at 558,165 carloads, down 21.4% as compared to the same period in 2015.
